(SOLVED) how do I pipe sound through HDMI when using Mageia?

Ive bought a new video card, cause Ive been told I can move sound through a HDMI cord into my tv, certainly what I read on many forums gave that strong impression.
But theres no sound on my tv, just video.

Im used to Mint, and it had a specific Nvedia settings section, cant find it in Mageia.

Any recommendations?

What video player are you using ?
What Vid card you got?

I use VLC and tell VLC to use the HDMI output via a HD5870 when using the TV.

KDE can be told which sound output to use also if you want all sound through TV.

Pete.
