[SOLVED] LiVES : need help getting past startup screen

[SOLVED] LiVES : need help getting past startup screen

Postby jaywalker » Jun 27th, '12, 01:09

[Solved, partially, by pending update in Core Updates Testing]

I just installed this video editor on a Mageia 2 system tonight. I don't remember if I tried it before on the pre-release Cauldron.

Trouble is it displays the splash screen and then the "Testing Configuration" screen and there it stops - silently.

I get no additional information when starting it in a console.

I have attached a pic which shows that the "Testing Configuration" window does not look ... good. Mostly. Sometimes the spacing is better but the end result is always the same freeze.

Anyone had any experience using this editor on Mageia 2 (64bit)?

Its a bug in mplayer (http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=2071). Upgrade LiVES or upgrade mplayer.

Thanks for the info, salsaman, it seems that Bug 5413 (https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5413) covers this one. There is a possible fix in Core Updates Testing which seems to have dealt with the freeze during startup and this at least lets me get some testing done with LiVES.
