switching from X11 to Wayland and back to X11
Posted: Apr 10th, '25, 14:44I'm using Mageia 9 with all the updates. It installed using X11. I use KDE. I guess that's the default. I switched to Wayland because I wanted to try it out.
I usually use autologin, but that doesn't seem to be an option to autologin using Wayland. So I have a login screen. That's ok, because it gives me a choice.
So, I tried to switch back to Plasma X11, but that didn't go quite so well. I got logged in, but everything became very slow...to the point of nearly freezing.
The screen doesn't update properly.
So you can't even tell what you're doing. Logging out and logging back in using X11 Wayland puts things back to normal
