Hello,

A friend of mine upgraded from mga 8 to mga 9, he was using kernel 5.19 since it was the last kernel to support nvidia390 drivers.

As expected, with upgrade the nvidia390 stop working since it doesn´t work newer kernels.

I chose the nvidia legacy on mageia 9, but as espected XFdrake will install nvidia 470. My friends nvidia is an nvidia 630 with fermi chip and not kepler. As far as I know nvidia 470 works with nvidia 630 with kepler chip an newer cards.

I guess the nvidia390 driver is now blacklisted on mageia 9.. is there a way to remove it from the blacklist and use it with mga9 with kernel 5.19?.

If not, it would be great to have the option on xfdrake as long as the compatible kernel is used.

Regards

So do you want to use nvidia 470 or 390, as the description is a bit confusing ?

And have you tried if any of the free alternatives are enough?
Sometimes it is big difference between free drivers nouveau and modesetting.

Hello Doktor

I want to use 390 since his nvidia 630 has a fermi chip.

Nvidia released a 630 with kepler chip that is compatible with 470 drivers.

I haven't tried modesetting.

Should I try by renaming xorg.conf and let modesetting select the driver o add it on xorg.conf?

I am helping my friend via teamviewer since he's in Venezuela and I'm in México. I

It is usually enough to select in drakX11, section:
NVIDIA > Kernel Mode Setting
