Video Issue

Video Issue

Postby saptech » May 19th, '20, 07:11

I'm assuming this is a video issue. After doing a fresh install on a newly purchased HP Compaq Elite 8300 with an Intel internal graphic card, running Plasma5. I always have two users, mine & the wife, and we use the Switch User feature. I do not have this issue with Plasma5.

I also installed PekWM and use it to log in, but now I've noticed if I'm running Plasma and log out and re-login with PekWM, the screen is not displayed as should be. Here is a screenshot of how it looks:

Any idea what could be the cause and how to fix it?

For clarity - you have windows leaving trails when moved and windows are filled in black - yes?

Is this when you are the only one logged in?
Does it work properly if you restart the x server between logins?
I see my C has been in the sea too long - it's gone rusty.

This is Mageia 7 running PekWM. This is not a VM or anything.

Yes, leaving trails & boxes are black. This time it happen with 2 users logged in and log out and choosing Pekwm, then logged back in.

This may be a fluke. I use nitrogen to assign a background image and it may not have worked at this time.

I'll keep an eye and see if it happens again.

Thanks.

Keep in mind that this quick-switch thing caused you issues in the past, it's also not fully tested/supported under plasma.
