[SOLVED] screensaver slow to cancel

[SOLVED] screensaver slow to cancel

Postby DShelbyD » Apr 21st, '11, 17:08

In the Beta installed from the DVD64 there is an irritating delay in waking the screen after the screensaver (default slideshow) and powersave have put the screen (but not the computer) to sleep. I'd say it takes 10-15 seconds after moving the mouse for the frozen screensaver appears from the blank screen with multitudes of dots to thaw. Is this a bug or a feature? ;)

Re: screensaver slow to cancel [Solved]

I guess merely reporting this issue solved it. At any rate, after being away for an hour, I returned to the computer, jiggled the mouse, and the blank screen returned immediately to the desktop.

This is something I observed in Mandriva as well. Sometimes it takes a while, especially when the screensaver is about to load another image when you wag the mouse tail. Then first the new image loads and then the screensaver ends, showing the desktop.

Maybe that's it. The last two or three times, I've had to wait again. Timing is everything ....
