I tried few hours how to set the Fn+F5/F6 to set the backlight of the screen, I found a lot of "workaround" which I don't really liked.
The other Fn + (F1-F4 & F7-F12) work, which are the sleep mode, airplane mode, keyboard backlight, touchpad activation, and sound management. But not the screen backlight.
The solution I found on https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=192261 is to add "acpi_osi= " (with a space, I don't know why, but it's better so).
First time I edited the /etc/default/grub file, the line "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" wasn't here. I edit the boot process in the CCM (I reset the ACPI and ACPI_LOCAL, and set something else with the screen resolution), it didn't solved my problem after rebooting the system, but the line appear :
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" vga=797"
I edit this line to :
- Code: Select all
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi= vga=797"
and the Fn+F5/F6 touch set the backlight !
No "workaround" with xbacklight or other script like suggested in some forum.
This solution change something else, a warning appear in the boot process, but I don't remember what.
Bye !
