DVB-T2 on a slow computer?

First, some facts.
* The computer is a ASUS E210 fanless. Dual core 1.6 GHz. 4 GB RAM. 32 GB SSD.
* The current DVB-T2 receiver is an external PCTV 292e.
Watching DVB-T channels works fine. Me-TV is a bit old-fashioned but it does the job. Watching DVB-T2 channels doesn't work at all, though.
I've used a combination of w_scan and manual editing to create the initial tuning data file. Channel search was made with dvbv5-scan. Both T and T2 channels are found.
I suspect the dual-core CPU comes up short when rendering the T2 channels. ...or might I be doing something wrong?
Replacing the computer would be very difficult as there are very few completely silent devices. But replacing the external USB T2 card is possible.
All help is appreciated.
