Do you know if you are using the oss driver or proprietary driver ?

post the output of this please if not sure via the console

Code: Select all
rpm -qa |  grep fglrx

or this if that returns nothing

Code: Select all
glxinfo | grep vendor

If you are using fglrx please post the output of this

Code: Select all
fglrxinfo

To make sure direct rendering is enabled post output of this please

Code: Select all
glxinfo | head -n10

Just to point out Mageia 5 is out of beta

Your grep -i driver /var/log/Xorg.0.log output shows something completely different (rpm -qa | grep fglrx) and the glxinfo output is not necessary as you do use fglrx.
Please add the output of grep -i driver /var/log/Xorg.0.log
edit doktor5000:
And please add the output of
Code: Select all
cat /proc/cmdline
uname -a

FWIW, you haven't actually commented if this is still with Mageia 5 beta3 or with final Mageia 5.
