External HDMI displays detection (after recent updates?)

Postby pmr » May 17th, '25, 12:01

Hi,

since about a week I have been encountering strong problems with detection of external HDMI displays.

I have been always using this feature very frequently and basically it was working - not detection was happening quite rarely and if - then typically a single disconnection and reconnection was helping.

Over the last month I was staying abroad and during this time was connecting only a single certain HDMI display - it was also working.

After my return I started to observe that displays that were working before started to encounter substantial detection problems: either are not detected at all or sometimes appear as the ones with just VGA resolution. It is necessary to disconnect and reconnect them multiple times in order to trigger their proper operation.

I associate it (but I am not sure about it) with recent updates - ca. beginning of May. I always maintain the system in the up-to-date state and it is so now.

Has anybody observed such a behaviour?
