Last news after updating kernel, nvidia, and other packages today: when rebooting, and ony then, the second monitor exhibits the mageia splash screen. No luck yet for normal use however.

And adding to the list of weird happenings, I've read in another topic that installing plasma-workspace-wayland I would have the choice to login in plasma(wayland) but I still have only plasma(X11) to choose.

Problem with second monitor solved...
After last update (kernel-desktop-6.6.52-1.mga9.x86_64, etc), the second monitor showed up during powering off as I've already reported.

There has been another update today (libreoffice packages + others).

I've edit xorg.conf and change nouveau to nvidia as the driver and now I have the second monitor back for normal usage.

What is the causal relationship of this changes to the availability of the second monitor? I have no idea.

And, finally, believe it or not,
jounalctl -ab
no longer shows any unrecoverable error in /dev/sda!
