Is hybrid graphics support included in kernel 3.8.13 or does it still need to be switched via something like bumblebee/Ironhide? I have both cards recognized in the control center but I have a couple basic and naive questions. 1) I have an Nvidia GeForce 525M graphics card which is recognized and using the nvidia driver for GeForce 400 series and later but when I click on run config tool, the driver shows up as Intel 810 and later. I realize the 810 driver is for the integrated graphics card. Under the config tool, I can get either the intel or the nvidia driver for both, but not a separate driver for each. Is this normal? (note: on the hardware information screen, under module, the correct drivers are listed for each card, it's only in the config tool that they are the same.)
2) If I run a graphics intensive program such as a game, will the nvidia GPU automatically handle this task or do I need to start it manually? If so, how?
3) I am unable to reboot if I deactivate the nvidia card (hangs on a blank screen), and shutting down takes about 2 minutes as opposed to about 10 seconds if I leave the card powered on. Is there some way to fix this? I often turn off the nvidia card to extend battery life.
Thanks.
