The title is pretty self explanatory. Since the ATI open source driver version 7.0 and 7.1, this driver now supports glamor 2D acceleration instead of the classics XAA and EXA . The only information about how to use this library that I could find dates from last summer, which predates the release of the 7.x driver version. The steps outlined said that the driver needed to be explicitely built with a flag enabling glamor, and then "AccelMethod" in xorg.conf needed to be set to "glamor".
What I'd like to know is with the new version of the driver, is this still necessary? Does the driver need to be rebuilt with explicit support for glamor? Do you still need to set AccelMethod to "glamor", or is glamor the new default if that option isn't explicitely specified? Any information is appreciated. I'm just surprised that support was added last fall and I can't seem to find updated documation on how to use this feature.
