Bonjour!

It was the year 1999... some bored guy (me) with Windows tried mandrake Linux. (I have somewhere the install cdroms)

Since then many distros have come and go on my computers and now I give Mageia a try.
This distro looks oddly familiar!!!

I am not the brightest due to my handicap but I managed to learn allot about free software and what not.

Greetings from the Netherlands! :ugeek:

Yes I like that Mandriva carry its heritage with pride :)

If you need some starting tips see a few posts earlier in this thread.

Van harte welkom Phlox!!!!! :)

Welcome to the Mageia-community, a place to be for all those who are familiar to everything legacy of Mandrake/Mandriva-era, and of course for all others who haven't. ;)

Wish you magical times with our distribution and community.

Greetings from the northeastern U.S. Hasn't yet snowed locally, but I'm sure it's coming...

During my early Linux days, I installed Mandriva on a 32-bit computer and with Mageia, I am recognizing some of the features from Mandriva.

Mageia has been installed on one of my 64-bit desktops, to try out, after running it in a virtual machine under Debian and so far, I like it. I was very pleased to discover that the Bluetooth USB dongle I have, was recognized right out of the box. I installed Bluetooth Manager (blueman) and it paired the headphones.

A warm welcome to the Mageia-community epp!!! :)

Sure you will recognize many things from your Mandriva-period, but meanwhile we are already into an 8th release of it's successor and building on version 9.

Besides enjoying the community and the release, we gladly invite you for contributing in one of many ways:
