Mageia install

Postby clombard44 » Mar 21st, '14, 19:15

I recently received a Omageia4 dvd with a magazine.
I would like to select "install" after the boot...However...does the install
overwrite my current O/S and boot loader...????????????
I just want to try this...something like a live cd...I do not want to install it
or overwrite anything on my machine..
thanks

It depends on which DVD you have. Mageia provides 2 types of DVD - live DVD's which can be used to try out Mageia as a live system without installing it and classical DVD's which can only be used to install Mageia:

The live DVD's offer an option to "Boot Mageia". (This is the option that allows you to try Mageia without making changes to your computer. )

Any option that offers to "Install Mageia" will result in changes being made to your system.
