Hi all,

just a heads-up: Due to the enormous amount of SPAM that we receive, and the absence of an answer from
forums team leader on spam treatment policy, and because seemingly the spam countermeasures are not effective at all,
I've changed the registration for forums so that activation of new accounts is now required.

In addition, please send a short mail to forums-discuss mailing list or contact me via mail/PM to verify your account registration.

So please be patient if newly created accounts may not be activated immediately. I'm counting on your understanding.

Not always, we had that in german mandrivauser.de forum for example, and there were still dozens of spammers.
It won't prevent against spam kids, maybe only against some of the cheap bots.

FWIW, this has been disabled shortly afterwards.
The process of account creation forwards new users to https://identity.mageia.org so this settings does not apply at all.
