Hi;

has anybody experienced this? When I am browsing this forum it usually goes like a flash. Sometimes it takes quite some time. I was trying to pay more attention to what is going on so I noticed that whenever it gets slow we are at least 3 online..!

Am I mistaken or does it go slow for others too?

confirmed. long loading times - about 3 to 4 seconds now, 3 online.

Last Sunday it was not possible to reach the Mageia-sites (forums and mailing lists) at all at the first time. But waiting about 10 minutes, it worked.
At first glance this looks like a dns problem, but how could that be?

Problem occured only with Mageia sites. Deleting browser cache and cookies didn't help.

Yes, this is not only the forum. I have always open forums.mageia.org/en, forums.mageia.org/de and mageia.org. When loading of a page hangs it hangs in all pages (but only mageia pages), which seems to point at a dns problem. This happens occasionally at random times. Sometimes it takes only a couple of seconds, sometimes but seldomly up to a couple of minutes.

This is not new, I've been seeing this almost from the start. But it happens not often enough to bother me.

So I'll just add Mageia IP to my DNS server

I've never experienced slow downs , right now I'm Writing via Verizon 3g on a Droid 2 , works fine on all my pc's as well

If it is really a DNS issue it possibly depends on the traceroute from your ISP to Mageia.
Next time I will do a traceroute to forums.mageia.org (if the delay is long enough)

I'll try to check it too

Just experienced a 12 minutes delay (first until timeout, then repeated the request) with forums and bugzilla. Oliver reported this as well (mail to sysadmin team, also my confirmation).
It is not a DNS issue, Oliver received normal ping echoes, I did a traceroute which reached alamut.mageia.org in normal steps and time.

Well, this time it was the webserver. There were some updates made and apache did not restart automatically.
So this incident had a known cause, not related with the "occasional slowing down".
