Hi there,

since quite some time i've got a problem with some threads, they seem to be frozen relating to
the state of read/unread posts. F.ex. this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=342&start=50
will always be marked unread at the beginning of page 3. I then read the posts, even click all of the post icons,
also multiple times tried to clear out my cache and all forum cookies, but to no avail.

Every time there's a new post in that thread, and from active topics i click on "show first unread post"
for that thread then it will return me to page 3 and the first post there, which i've read over and over, but still unread.


Anyone got an idea why the problem only persists with that one thread? (Also happened with others,
but unfortunately can't remember exactly which ones, but with that thread the problem persists till today)

Little fact i forgot: When i click on the post icon (marked light red) of the first post which is shown as unread,
then suddenly all the other posts which i'Ve read before will change to "read" and the thread is again to the state how it should be.
Until the next new post in there.

That's weird. I just checked, I can't confirm that behavior here.

Now i've used the button "mark topics read" function in the Packaging and translating for Mageia subforum,
where above linked thread is located. Would you mind posting there so i can see if the problem still persists?

Humm, weird, problem still persists. Now the first unread post for me is this one:
viewtopic.php?p=9283&f=12#p9283
If i click the post icon, all following posts are also marked read. If there
would be a new post, all posts from the one which i linked and the new one
would be unread. Which is weird, as i'Ve written above, i've marked all threads
in that subforum as read (see my last post).

As this is only the case for this one thread currently, i suspect a problem with the forum DB, for that thread and my read/unread state.

I at first had the same behavior, then tried something different.
I had clicked the "First unread" button for that thread from within the Discussions about forums sub-forum.
That thread (and two others) appear in every sub-forum.
When clicking from withing the Discussions sub-forum it indeed did not register the posts I had read. But clicking that thread from the Welcome on board sub-forum it did.

If I recall correctly, we had had a similar problem in the past, where reading those three threads did not register everywhere as read.

Thanks for the hint, sounds comprehensible. Will try the next time there's a new post in there.

Reappeared, seems this is somehow related to threads marked as Announcements.
I'll just mark it as solved, as nobody else could reproduce or has reported this so far.

Ah, I experienced this some times in MU.de with global announcements published by myself, when I opened such an announcement in a different forum as the one I have initially published in.
