Had to create a new user ID

Last weekend I tried to log into my account here (mark9117) and was unable to do so. I changed my password multiple times and finally sent an email to the forum-developers group email. I heard nothing back.

Tonight I did it again. Changed password and an email to the developers. I created a new ID in frustration.

Is there something going on? Am I the only one that had an account tanked?

Just asking.

Where did you change your password? It needs to be done at https://identity.mageia.org/

After making the change it's best to wait for several minutes for the new password to be registered.

Well, there's not much that we can do, regarding the password. That needs to be done by a sysadmin if change via https://identity.mageia.org/ isn't working.
Best is to contact them via IRC or the sysadmin-discuss mailing list.

I had the very same issue. I went to identity.mageia.org and clicked on the Forgot Password link. I provided my email address and received an email with a new temporary password. I clicked on the link to activate the temporary password, and it told me that it was successful. Then I tried to log in, and the password was rejected. I tried that twice. The links in the emails to activate turned out to be forum links.

After days of frustration, I clicked on the link in the Mageia Blog article to try again, which took me to identity.mageia.org, where I repeated my Reset request. However, the link I received in the email was a link to identity.mageia.org to a page to directly change my password there. That time it worked. The third time, I did not receive a temporary password, just a link back to identity.mageia.org to change my password there.

I don't know why the third try was different. Try starting from the link in the blog article.
