Is this a bug? When I registered I thought I typed in "Gideon" but my username turned out "gideon".

I see almost everyone here has all lowercase but I did see a couple of (admin?) users with upper case

I don't know if it is a bug, but I wasn't affected, since my username is "Akien".

It shouldn't be related to the fact that I'm part of the "Mageia Translators" group, since I joined it after I registered.

There's no rule about cases in user names, surf the member list and you will see lots of users with capital letters in their name. Best guess is you typed "gideon" with lower case letters at identity.mageia.org.
