Mageia Identity, what does the attribute "cn" stand for?

Postby vecciora » Jul 30th, '15, 08:39

Just wondering because it seems weird. The entry is filled with my full name, but with my given name repeated twice.

I think that it should be your given name followed by your second (family) name. There should be no repetition.

CN is common name of an object. If the object is a person then the CN should be the persons full name.

That's already explained on the linked wiki page - that answer was 5 years ago, FWIW.

It is very poorly explained on the linked wiki page and is not inclusive.
Just because it was explained 5 years ago does not mean that it does not need correcting.
