Telepathy broken.

I thought I'd try telepathy out this morning, but discovered that the install seems to be broken.
When I try and add an account, I get a popup:
"Something went terribly wrong and the IM system could not be initialized. It is likely your system is missing Telepathy Mission Control package. Please install it and restart this module."
I did check in MCC to see what was loaded of Telepathy and it seems the control module is installed. I thought I'd uninstall it and try again, but when I unselected it, the system wanted to basically uninstall kde so I gave up.
Peter.

hum i removed the requires from kdebase4-workspace so you won't need to remove kdebase4-workspace & dependencies for that point.

Some package are missing, because this we have a authentication problem. To be more specific, the missing package is "telapathy-auth-handler". See more details in this bug report:

Update: all the necessary packages are already in Mageia Cauldron repo. Telepathy-KDE is working 100% with GTalk and Jabber.

pmithrandir, all the packages needed were installed by the system update. Search in rpmdrake for "telepathy-kde" and "telepathy" and search for packages that aren't installed or have upgrade to be installed. But read the description of the packages to avoid install "gnome-telepathy" (empathy) packages.
In my first time on the updated telepathy-kde, I needed to remove the old accounts and added them again.
Good Luck

pmithrandir, restart KDE is a good idea. If it don't solve the problem, try to mark, in advanced options of google talk account, "Ignore SSL Error".

Hi, It was in fact KDE to restart. Now it's connected.
Another question, is there a way to check the box : save password ?
I have 3 accounts connected and it's really boring to type the password each time !!!
The good news is that I can now access msn... no more buggy kopete

Please people, keep questions separated in different dedicated topics.
This results in better chances of getting answers, and makes the forum more effective for better search-ability.
Thanks.

isadora, I'm sorry but I think all this topic is about Telepathy-kde, so I don't understand what's the point.
pmithrandir, I think this option is disabled. But I don't know if this is a bug or a not implemented feature.

You are right, it is all about telepathy.
But your first intention to open this topic was because of a "broken telepathy".
The follow-up was about certain settings in telepathy.
What do you think?
