While waiting for Mageia 5 and checking the webpage for the release from time to time, I was reading so many times the appeal to help testing the beta.
Today I decided to do so, although I'm not experienced with developing - apart from basics in java.

I could not find where to report the result, so I will just do here, please point me to other places if that makes sense.

My conclusion:
It's running very very smoothly, almost nothing negative to report.
I only noticed two little things and one freezing program so far:

• The installer window, I've chosen 'custom partitioning', is too small and will create scroll bars, esp. in expert mode, although there's enough space left on the screen.

• The content of the 'media sources' window in Mageia Control Center will scroll/jump up when un/checking sources.

• Amarok freezes sporadically while playing larger mp3 files (~1h) approx. 10min after start. It will continue to play the file, meaning you can hear the music continuously, but Amarok-UI does not get updated any more, as well as the plasma-taskbar! I can't click anything in the taskbar and the clock is frozen - until I kill Amarok (only "kill -9" will be successful)

Is this information enough to create a bug report? Although I don't have any proof for it? How could I get logs to track this (Amarok) behaviour?

This is the proper place for M5B3 reports.

If you want to "push the envelope" and test M5RC, you need to add your name to the QA mailing list and the .iso testing mailing list , the more the merrier, and a welcome E-mail will be sent back to you.

For bugs and bug reporting, have a look here : https://bugs.mageia.org/.
Here you can search for bugs pertaining to Amarok, MCC, installer, etc.
Check through the list from your search to see if one matches, if it does, add your comments,
Include important information like which .iso you found the problem in.
For Amarok :
If you still have a prior version of Mageia, would you might like to compare your Amarok problem against that version and see if it is an old problem that has gone un-noticed, or something new.
For this bug report also include info like your sound card, size of file, self made .mp3 or from internet, etc.

If your problem is not in the search result, this means you are the best person to file a bug report.
If you don't file a report, no-one will know that this should be fixed, and it should be, because at least one user is affected, and you were motivated enough to file a bug report.
If you have not filed a bug report before, read a few of the initial comments of a few reports to get an idea of what is required.
The bug report form itself is quite self explanatory.
