[SOLVED] spell check libreoffice mga5

Hi, I've been using Mga5 for about three weeks now and I find it really well presented and quite usable.

Well done and Thank you very much.

I have found a problem and need to know how I can give the right info to help resolve it.

The libreoffice spell checker is empty and I can't find a way to change the parameters.
Version: 4.4.0.3
Build ID: 4.4.0.3-9.mga5
Locale: en_AU

I can insert an obvious error and the checker can't find the error.

I have a ksnapshot grab to show the dialog....

I'm using kde, not plasma desktop at the moment.

abiword spell check is working, I've just noticed. So not as important as I first thought....

Regards Glenn

Your screen shot shows no Text Language selected.

Can you not select one in the drop down box?

Spell-checking is working for me (using English UK). Do you have autocorr-en, libreoffice-langpack-en and hunspell-en installed? Also check the settings in Tools/Options/Language Settings.

Hi Jim, thanks for responding.

Those packages are installed.
[root@GamesBox glenn]# urpmi --noclean autocorr-en libreoffice-langpack-en hunspell-en
Packages libreoffice-langpack-en-4.4.0.3-9.mga5.x86_64, hunspell-en-0.20121024.1-4.mga5.noarch, autocorr-en-4.4.0.3-9.mga5.noarch are already installed
Marking autocorr-en as manually installed, it won't be auto-orphaned
writing /var/lib/rpm/installed-through-deps.list
[root@GamesBox glenn]#

I get the same result, changing to UK-english, or default us-eng.

I have already, but I might try a reinstall of Libre-office. But not yet.

two more snapshots of those dialogs...

Hold everything, The spell checker is now working after closing and re-opening a document on those settings pictured above (uk-english).

Thank you, but I'm not sure how we fixed it. I changed it back to aussie-english and now it works there too.

Oh yeah, I added in "user-defined dictionaries" an entry for Australian English. I don't remember having had to do that before.

I started with Open office in 2004/5.

Anyhow, maybe it was not automagically configured, but I do remember having to re-install libre-office with mga5.

I may have caused this myself when I got rid of the plasma desktop, I'm not sure. I was not a clean install, but I did an upgrade to cauldron this year.

All's well that ends well.

Thank you, Regards Glenn
