Laptop HP Probook6555b
Detected in MCC : HP Integrated Module from Broadcom, module btusb
At the CLI as root:
Code: Select all
> hciconfig
hci0:   Type: BR/EDR  Bus: USB
BD Address: 40:2C:F4:61:1A:CF  ACL MTU: 1021:8  SCO MTU: 64:1
        UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
        RX bytes:1914 acl:0 sco:0 events:150 errors:0
        TX bytes:3750 acl:0 sco:0 commands:119 errors:0

but

Code: Select all
> hcitool scan
Scanning ...

and then nothing
Bluetooth service is running.
And yes, I have my Acer smartphone laying beside the laptop (works perfectly in my car), havn't tried on Win 7 yet.

Please next time use code tags as explained in ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/mandriva/m ... e_tags.ogv

Did you enable visibility on the smartphone? Also why don't you try to pair directly?

It was by testing the phone With Mageia4 that I realized that I had switched Bluetooth on , on the phone, but I still needed to initiate the command to connect. I have bought this Acer phone recently, and it works sometimes quite differently from my older Nokia cell phone.
Sorry for the trouble.
