There is no KDE 5. Check e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE_Frameworks and maybe http://vizzzion.org/blog/2014/02/next-m ... -the-core/
KDE 4.1x will be included in Mageia 5.

Neon is a project for *buntu, packaging the latest development versions.

No there is no kde5 it's named kde frameworks 5 officially, and those packages are in cauldron so they will be found from mageia 5.

KDE Frameworks are only the libaries and building blocks, nothing that's really visible to the user.

Please use the search function, has already been asked: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7821
We have KF5 since quite some time, and plasma next aka plasma 5.0 will probably be available soon.

I have built plama 5 (on Cauldron) following instructions on https://community.kde.org/Frameworks/Building
Some additional adjustments were needed since i used /opt/kf5/kde_frameworks prefix.

Not all is complete yet in Plasma 5.0.

At first i had flickering while scrolling, but after choosing OpenGL 3.1 and EGL for compositiong all seems well (using AMD opensource drivers)
For some reason right click does not work in konsole.
MCC can not be opened from menu. No password dialog opens, but launching from konsole works.
Translations are not complete, most apps are not ported yet

Plasma 5.0 should not be default on any distro. To use it as default plasma version should be > 5.1, but it is probably released too late to be incuded in Mageia 5 (Versions freeze 2014/09/09, Plasma 5.1 expected relase date is 2014/10/15)

Me I still call it KDE5 out of convenience, as KDE frameworks 5 is over long and KF5 sounds like a boy band
