Bug report will probably be closed. Either you provide a new theme or specific advice what exactly you don't like.
Also keep in mind that taste is something subjective, so if you don't like the new theme, doesn't mean that applies to all other Mageia users too.

It seems to be suggesting tat it is about time I was "pushing up daisies!" Is that why they didn't show it until it was too late to object?

Actually I don't like that sub-tone. It has been discussed on council mailing list, and sadly there hasn't been much
choice for the default background which fulfills requirements and artwork guidelines.

There was even a blog post call. Please contribute and help us improve Mageia. Not only artwork. All/any areas can improve if you join us.

I am assuming that replying here is a better altenernative considering the content of this reply then on the bug, which I have closed as wontfix.

Firstly, I will appreciate any feedback pon the looks of mageia when there is something constructive to it. You have giving nothing that is constructive at anypoint, just stating that it is ugly, not how or why it is ugly.
So either shut up and stop whining, or get involved and help us to make Mageia look like you think it should look.

Also, to say that the theme was integrated so late was to stop protests, the themes for all previous versions of Mageia have been about this late. Also, the discussion on the theme have been open, and been going on for a long time so why didn't you take part in any of them?

And what does this have to do with election, and where does schultz confuse that? Probably you did.
He was elected the same way I was, by being in a Mageia team and becoming either team leader or deputy, hence we were "elected" to council.
