Mageia 4 Beta 2 (i586) is installed in virtual environment (VMware Workstation 9.0)
I have installed Netbeans-platform 7.0.1 10.mga4 in Mageia Beta 2. It is not possible to find or start Netbeans.
I can't find it in the menu - Development - IDE

I also tried to install Netbeans 7.4 from Netbeans.org but it faild because of missing JDK.
Code: Select all
[jan@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 3.12.3-server-1.mga4 #1 SMP Wed Dec 4 21:09:45 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux
[jan@localhost ~]$

Pretty simple, the package you want is probably netbeans.
netbeans-platform does not contain any executable files or desktop shortcut.

When I search for netbeans I get the following answer:
netbeans-javaparser
netbeans-platform
netbeans-platform-harness
netbeans-platform-javadoc

No netbeans package.
I have activated the following media-sources:
Mirror Core Release (distrib 1)
Mirror Core Updates (distrib 3)
Mirror Nonfree Release (distrib 11)
Mirror Nonfree Updates (distrib 13)
Mirror Tainted Updates (distrib23)

Maybe the media sources is missing the netbeans package?
Edit.
I activated CD sources but no netbeans package.

Yep, just had a look in my cauldron VM, and you're right. The package had been dropped because it was broken and didn't build for some time,
but has been revived recently. Seems the packager forgot to also revive the package which contains the actual binaries.
I don't use netbeans but looks like it's nearly unusable at all in current state.
