So downloaded a Mageia-4-beta2-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD.iso
Checked md5sum -> OK
dd to the USB flash media
The media did dot boot up, it stopped at:
Code: Select all
Checking for new hardware
Starting netprofile: The default is the current profile.

The same situation as in topic: https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6513

Used hardware: Lenovo Thinkpad X200 http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X200

Mageia 4 beta1 KDE 32 bit LiveDVD booted at the same conditions OK.

If it's the same situtation, why open a new thread?

Well, you are right, similar would have been better word than same.
But that does not change the main information...
If I had a Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720, then I definitely would have posted in that thread... ;)

Made some additional tests.
The laptop has a Intel GMA 4500MHD video adapter.
Using xdriver=intel and xdriver=vesa and also failsafe mode - all ended with the same result as in the first post of this thread...
Also tried another USB flash media but the result is the same.
Anything else I can test?

Just tested the same laptop with Mageia-4-RC-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD.iso and it booted OK to the KDE desktop.
So seems to be fixed.

Yes, of course. I even tried to edit the top post, but the topic allowed length prevented me to add my desired addition [SOLVED in Mageia 4 RC] so this time I abbreviated the topic...
