Hi
I am testing beta version and would like to know if someone to make avidemux-gtk tainted ve4rsion.
All my files where done using version and the QT version of avidemux doesn't have the filter
options that i need so all my files will be the same when building a DVD.

avidemux-gtk and avidemux-qt are only frontends for avidemux, and the filters are totally unrelated to the frontends.

And tainted builds are available, please check your repos:

EDIT: Ahh, now I see what's probably the issue, some packages from tainted have not bee rebuilt against new avidemux-2.6.6 ...
I'll ask for a rebuild for Tainted.

Hmmm, seems we both have outdated repositories or use outdated mirrors. Please post the output of the following commands after doing urpmi.update -a as root

Just checked again after updating repos, looks just fine, everything version 2.6.6:

I see what you are saying and I have the new QT version and it works. I was looking for the version
with the GTK frontend and the filters I'm using has the mplayer options and the QT version doesn't, I can't
get the aspect ratio and the frame size to match what i have.all ready done.
The last version of avidemux before awitching distro's was avidemux-GTK 2.5.6

The plugins are shared, but they may not be available from all frontends, cf. the part about plugins at http://www.avidemux.org/admWiki/doku.ph ... idemux_26x

Seems the gtk frontend doesn't exist anymore as Mageia package, the maintainer mentioned it's not maintained upstream.
Maybe I can provide a build of Avidemux 2.5.6 with the gtk frontend for Cauldron.
But anyways, maybe you should better use a stable Mageia release like Mageia 3? There the gtk frontend is still available.

I really appreciate all that you are doing, I'd like to stay with mageia 4
and help out the testing process, " kind of like the way this distro is really coming together.
I have some time for now at least for the next couple of weeks to find a work around.

Yes I'm running the 32bit I586 version of Madeia 4 Beta other than avidemux, this version is working Great!
I could rrun the 64bit version execpt, I have a few people that have older machines that are 32bit that I maintain and I try to run the same distro
and version, it makes it easier to recreate any problems and find a fix for them.

Uhmm, and you installed Cauldron on all of those machines? Otherwise that's irrelevant ...

Thanks for yhe files very much appreciated. What I mean't
to say about the other machines is that is I try to keep everything the same.
On my test machine I try out the new version of the distro before installing on the other machines. That way by the time mageia 4 goes final
I'll be up to speed and know somewhat to aspect when I install on the other machines. Sorry for the confussion.

I tried to install avidemux gtk and got a dependency issue and it wouldn.t install/
The install was looking for a package called libADM_smjs.so

Please show the exact command you've used to install and the error message you got.
BTW, you need to replace all your avidemux packages with the ones I've uploaded, thought that was obvious from the contents of the zip file.

After several tries to solve dependence issues and fragmentation. I did a complete reinstall from the live CD.
After installation was complete and programs added back without avidemux files was so ever. I tried your files to install avidemux-gtk.
Right click rpm, then select software installer, added appropriate password when asked about trust and so on. Then it starts to install then you get the error dependence issue package needs
LibADM_smjs.so and istallation terminates.

Dependency issues and fragmentation, and then you did a reinstall? Whatever ...

The problem is you cannot simply install avidemux-gtk, as it needs the avidemux package itself. Thats what software installer tells you.
So open a terminal, go to the folder where you extracted the avidemux packages, and as root do:

Code: Select all: urpmi ./avidemux*.rpm

then post the ouput here if it fails.
