your alpha 2 would not install so i waited for the beta.

it does install but i have no sound. this is a 64 bit computer.

i went into config desktop and config computer, messed around with the settings
and was unable to get sound to work.

i use a usb roadie sound card.

Hi!

Had such a problem with a audiotrak-maya-44-usb.
I did the following:

Deaktivate pulse-audio.

At the konsole (bash, shell): alsamixer

selcect sound card with F6. If the soundcard is not there - bad luck. But normally the usb-cards use the usb-snd-audio module.

Rise Master Level to 90 (and possible other output levels.)

Your soundcard should work now.

To store the alsamixer parameters, do the following as root (!)

alsactl store

Hope it helps ...

cheers,
Bernd
