Unexpected Hardware Driver installation behaviour

Postby xyzzy » Apr 6th, '11, 17:51

Doing a fresh install of Beta 1 x86_64. After the install completed, I ran updates. My WiFi card was not working so I went into Configure Hardware. As soon as this finished detecting hardware it downloaded 119 packages which seemed to be hardware drivers and dependencies. This seems strange to me, should this not have been done during install? Did I choose some install option which caused this behaviour, or is this a bug?

Thank you Jim,

I thought maybe I had not seen some selection during install which meant these packages were not installed, but the listed bug matches what happened to me.
