.XCompose in GTK apps

Postby Rinaku » Apr 14th, '13, 20:59

Hello,

I use Mageia 3 beta with KDE. I configured KDE to have a compose key and put a few custom sequences in my ~/.XCompose. This works fine in Qt applications. In GTK applications (Firefox and Pidgin) the compose key works but only with the system-defined sequences, not my custom ones.

I saw on the Web that this is a common problem solved by exporting GTK_IM_MODULE=xim . I tried this and (after logout/login) it doesn't work. I also tried GTK_IM_MODULE=scim (after having installed the "scim" package) but it doesn't work either.

Any idea ?
