I have downloaded the latest iso (torrent) and dd'ed it to an 8Gb usb stick. It boots alright and formats partitions etc. But during package installation it breaks with:
- Code: Select all
ERROR: 'unpack' failed for kernel-desktop-3.8.3-2.mga3-1-1.mga3.x86_64
ERROR: 'unpack' failed for bouncycastle-1.46-7.mga3.noarch
Is there an issue with installation from USB stick? Or is it the torrent version? Do others have similar problems?

I succeeded installing beta 4 by use of DVD. But still there might be an issue with the usb-stick method. Which should of cause also function.
Is this worth a bug report?

Most in QA use USB sticks when testing the pre-release isos.
Can you say which ISO it was which failed for you please so we can double check the RC's currently in QA.
Thanks

It was the Installer DVD - 64 bit.

My best guess is that this was a problem with the usb stick itself.
Either the stick has started to go bad, or the dd command showed
the copy was completed, before it really was.
Does the stick have a led to indicate activity?
