Did you try changing your sources? In mcc > manage media remove all the existing sources and add new ones in. If you use the file menu (upper left) you can select a specific media mirror. It will find the fastest/closest and put it at the top of the list.

For the first message your mirror maybe updating, try again latter.

For the second the only way around that I've found is to use

urpmi --auto-update

in a terminal as root.
It only has to be done once to get rpmdrake working again.
