[SOLVED] Anyone else seeing dbus issues lately?

Postby ghmitch » Mar 27th, '13, 17:32

This may be just a problem on my own system, but lately I have been seeing consistant dbus failures. I just want to rule out a known problem before I waste a lot of time investigating it.

I was having some weird issues with dbus myself also. see above link, post 11ish.

hi all,

I fixed the issue with another download of the disk and a new install. When it asked to update I also reinstalled all the dbus software and it worked fine after that. I turned off APPER without removing it, as I usually do, and have a crash notice or complaint pop up every time it tries to run apper, I think. I have not tried turning apper back on to see if it is the reason for the complaint about dbus though.

all else is working well on the X-31 with beta 3..

cheers all

And the solution IS ... the ancient problem with draksnapshot has STILL not been resolved. The comment back with Mageia 2 was that it "doesn't work anyway". Which begs the question of "why on earth is this package not moved back to testing or some such until it is working?" Broken packages should not be in the main repository readily available for installation. I simply installed this because I remember it as a part of the old draktools collection and like to keep my toolset complete. So ... I WILL mark this SOLVED ... but I really think these "poison pill" packages lying around should be getting a second look. - George
