Latest updates have resulted in sound card (onboard intel) not beeing seen by phonon.. Shows only dummy output.
pulseaudio volume control shows no hardware for output sound.
module snd_hda_intel not loaded.
used modprobe to load driver. Edited /etc/modules to include the driver.

May be a regression on bug 4458?
"Fix" only gets kde notifications working. Not other sounds.
Still researching.
