need help getting xserver back to auto running [SOLVED]

Hi,

I decided to switch from using my open source video driver to the proprietary driver. However, during the graphical setup (via the MCC) I didn't realize the 'auto launch graphical server' or something like that was not checked. Now when I reboot I am brought to a terminal where I can log in but with no screen. How do I reset this so I can have my normal desktop screen load automatically?

Thanks.

You don't say what video card you have but it looks like the propitiatory driver for it is not working.

In the terminal log in as root and run drakx11, accept the default and say no to the propitiatory driver and reboot.

Try as root:
Code: Select all
ln -sf /lib/systemd/system/graphical.target /etc/systemd/system/default.target
and reboot.

excellent. that worked perfectly. i have another issue that just showed up, but not related. if needed i can start a new thread. the issue is that i reformatted my windows partition (same hard drive) and now mageia drops me into rescue mode. i believe it is because the fstab needs updating, as windows was a drive it would auto mount. how can i resolve that from rescue mode?
