Hi,

I installed Mageia 3 beta 2 and the kernel was updated to Kernel 3.8.1-1.mga3, but when I access with this kernel, the mouse and keyboard do not work, but just restart and choose the Kernel 3.8.0rc7-1.mga3 and everything goes back to work (see here).

how many times did u restart your computer attempting to get the 3.8.1 kernel.

any time i get a new kernel my first boot does not work. my second usually does, but
not always. and then my system freezes up and i have to hard reset. the freeze happens
about a few minutes with my desktop.

then after that it works fine. i dont know what happens when u reboot but doing it a
couple of times for me , works.

Patrickdarcy,

I did other tests to and realized that was my mistake
As I installed Mageia 3, beta 3 in the partition and not the MBR, I had to make corrections on the lines of menu.lst. I forgot to fix the new line, the new kernel, which caused the error with the mouse and keyboard.
Once I corrected that, everything is ok. The Mageia 3 beta 2, now upgraded to Mageia 3 beta 3 opening ok with the new kernel or any kernel.
