Is anyone else with nvidia driver enabled in Mageia 3 seeing this? I can't be the only one can I? :shock:

Hold the phone for awhile. There's an install wrinkle with the Nvidia driver
on Cauldron right now:

Same problem here with the latest nvidia304 legacy driver (which btw was really hard to install due to this bug)

The nvidia driver (310.32) was updated on Jan 21, 2013. Unfortunately. the legacy driver (304.64) for older nvidia cards wasn't updated since November 2012. You will therefore still experience the bug if you have to use the legacy driver. To get rid of it I did a rebuild of the x11-server package with disabled "use-new-pixman-api" patch as suggested in this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=153890
The other possibility - downgrading to an older xorg version - is not really an option if you are running Cauldron ;)

In other words you would like to know how to build rpm packages for Mageia ;). A good starting point is here:

Any news on this problem?

I did a fresh install of M3B2 - wow, it was the first time Mageia reckognised my video : Nvidia 6800GS on Pentium 4 (3GHz), 2GB RAM;
updated it, and at least in both Firefox and Chrome fonts are distorted. Not always, and the way to repair them (temporarely) is to press CTRL+A, but that's far from usability.

Thanks. I'll be checking this out over next few days.

This may be fixed now with latest 'x11-server-xorg-1.13.3-1.mga3'. :o
