Maybe stupid question, I fear, but: If I install Mageia 3 Beta 2 now. Will I be able to continously update and by that have the final version in May?

Yes. By applying available updates from the cauldron repo's, you will have the stable version at the time Mageia 3 is released. After Mageia 3 is released, you need to remember to change your Internet sources to Mageia 3, before cauldron development gets under way again (usually about a week after an official release).

Sadly we're lacking a bit at the documentation part in comparison to ubuntusers awesome wiki articles, but feel free to change that
