M3B1 grub and grub2

I did a fresh install of M3B1 using the 64bit Live KDE DVD iso and chose grub as my bootloader. I didn't notice that grub2 had also been installed in /boot/ before I carried out my first update, which included a new kernel. After the updates had finished and I had rebooted I checked the kernel had installed with:
Code: Select all
uname -a

and the kernel had not been updated. Checking the files in /boot I saw that the files in /grub2 had been updated but those in /grub had not.

If you don't want to use grub2, to avoid this problem I suggest you uninstall it before carrying out your first update.

I have raised this bug reort: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8463

I hope that's not a sign that Mageia is looking at GRUB 2 as the default bootloader. For whatever reason I just don't like it, of coarse I continued to run LILO long after GRUB became the norm..
