I installed the RC 64-bit.
The installation seemed to have worked al right, but the RC boots into a black screen.
I do not get any in-log screen

i get a message that says conflict with fs hw ati something or other and all i get is a black screen.

i havent been able to anything that works yet in mageia.

i have been wanting to change from mandriva to mageia but if it continues to not get me to a
usable screen i will need to keep looking.

any ideas where there is a 64 bit version of linux that is not fedora or ubuntu ?

Have you tried using the Dual Arch cd? I have had good luck using it but it seems to install LXDE as desktop, even though it offers KDE & Gnome. The one I used was the Beta 1 disc. I've also had good luck using the KDE livecd Beta 2 and install to hard drive, without issues and I have an older (legacy) ATI vdieo card.

I always have good luck using Debian testing.

Just a thought!

i reinstalled and used vesa to drive my video card. i havent had to to that in years but i got in.
unfortunatelly logging in as user does work but guest does. unfortuately logging in as guest
logs u in as root.

i did manage to look at konqueror , this being one of my main reasons for trying a new
system. konqueror works well and is fast.

i think your desktop background is horrible . i havent seen anything so ugley for a desktop
since the 90's.

sound doesnt work . unfortunately if sound doesnt work i wont be using your software.

hope u can fix your problems in a short period of time for your final release.

Thanks ahmad, after reinstalling Mageia KDE version, I noticed some of those things in the link about the Dual Arch cd.
