A lot of kioslave processes

from a couple of days I saw that most of my memmory is taken by a lot of kioslave processes (~5 - 8 Mb). Do anybody know what is this process about?
Also I noticed that without started kontact there are 5 (I have 5 pop3 registered accounts) akonadi_pop3_resource running processes. Is this normal?
