If you are not able to boot correctly and the system shows lot of IRQ errors then add following option in the boot sequence
pci=nommconf
Known problem on Medion PC 8822 detected since Mandriva 2008.1 and on all following versions.
Else, I say a BIG BRAVO! to the whole team of Mageia who made a real good work.
Booting from KDE CD:
- At boot, the time is not changed automatically (notice: not the case actually on Mandriva 2011 Beta 2)
- A slight problem at boot with NVidia GeForce 7650 GS on the VGA port which has an uncorrect resolution (We see only 1/4 of the page and therefore have no access to the OK buttons) but on DVI port everything is perfect.
- Ethernet working automatically at first time
- webcam Quickcam E3500 is working properly
- sorry I forgot to check the HP Photosmart C3180S
- TV board SAA7131/SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder is working properly (card=12, tuner=63, video_nr=1, alsa=enable) (/dev/video1 is existing (/dev/video0 is webcam) [it is also ok with mdv 2011 beta 2 but was no more the case with mdv 2010.x]. Notice: it is still not possible to have the sound with the channels
I still use:
sox -c 1 -s -r 32000 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp$THE_SOUND_DEVICE -t ossdsp -r 32000 /dev/dsp &
before starting
tvtime -d /dev/video$THE_VIDEO_DEVICE 2>/dev/null
- Another test with notebook Lenovo T400 with integrated webcam, wlan and ATI Mob Radeon HD 3400 worked properly.
