Error With Repositories

PostPosted: May 4th, '11, 19:35

I just had to do a cd install ugrade to restore Grub on this system. I installed Debian over the weekend for a dual boot and had Debian's grub but want Mageia's instead. For some reason, the Rescue didn't work, it kept showing an error, sorry I didn't write it down.

Once I did the upgrade to restore grub, I had to add the repositories again, is this normal? I kept the default repositories and went to upgrade Mageia and now keeps getting the errors listed below.

Any ideas what's going on? Can someone tell me which repositories is a default?

Thnx.

This may be part of the problem also.

Code: Select all
Unable to update medium, errors reported:

The other selected repositories seems to work okay.

I seem to have gotten the Nonfree Release (distrib11) working but when I run urpmi --auto-update -v, these messages appears:

Try a different mirror. ibiblio is not up-to-date most of the time because it only syncs once a day - sysadmins are trying to find a solution to that.

Thanks wobo, that seems to have helped, changing repositories. When you change repositories locations, does one have to log out and back in or reboot for it to take effect? I did log out and back in after changing it, but not the first time when I was getting those errors.

Thnx.

No need to log out -> log in, the change takes effect immediately.
