[SOLVED] Laptop fan speed.

Postby pnunn » Jan 29th, '12, 11:25

Hi folks,

I'm not convinced the fan on my laptop is running correctly under Cauldron. It seems to be idling when the laptop itself is very hot. How can I confirm or tweek the fan speed?

Ta

Peter.

You could provide some important information, like what laptop model you own ... ;)

You might take a look at http://dellfand.dinglisch.net/ or i8kutils,
which seem to be only available from Debian as a tarball, which has to be compiled:
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/ma ... .33.tar.gz
Download link taken from: http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/i8kutils

i8kutils should be available in cauldron now:
http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauld ... rev=199672

Works well on my Dell laptop.
