Install ok, reboot fails

Alpha2, fresh installation, started from i586 DVD but continued via ftp. Installation was ok, no problems, all configured correctly.
At reboot I get some "failed" messages (too fast to have a closer look), then the system reboots.
Booting into failsafe shows an error after going into "interactive startup process":
Code: Select all
Checking root file system:
fsck.ext4: symbol lookup error: fsck.ext4: undefined symbol: set_com_err_gettext [failed]

*** An error ocurred when checking filesystems.   ### (translated from German output)
*** You will find a shell; the system will be re-started
*** when you leave the shell
Give root password for maintenance
When I give the password I receive another error:
Code: Select all
bash: cannot set terminal process group (-1): inappropriate ioctl for device
bash: no job control in this shell

A previous installation of Alpha2 completely from the DVD succeeded. So it's neither the hardware nor the installation media.

Strange. That is so similar like my experience that this could have same roots. I suspect that DVD because I got errors about trouble with reading two small areas on it. I intend to wait for M2A3 and test again.

I also installed from DVD to a test partition finally formatting long dormant Mandriva partition. All except trouble with network connection went well. Trying to further test and repeat that bug I tried again. I installed from DVD with working network connection this time. After restart I got same surprise as you did. I managed to read later just before reboot that udev is not available or something like that.

I'll check again what are exact messages.

Where did you get Alpha3?

Edit: don't mind, already found it. ;)

Came in during early afternoon. My mirror syncs every 2 hours so it's pretty up-to-date.
Blog post and download page will come later, waiting for lazy mirrors :)

Downloading from ftp://ftp.mandrivauser.de/mirrors/Mageia/iso/cauldron/ goes rather quick.
