Concerning your request, you might have a look first at our wiki:

This is not a tip on how to upgrade or install Cauldron, rather, some user hints.

1/ Cauldron is NOT for everyday use. Use with care. Keep regular system and user file backups.
2/ Cauldron updates are not QA tested. See item 1.
3/ Cauldron updates are not downgradeable should an issue occur. See item 1.

4/ If you are trying Cauldron with an interest in bug finding, please also see => https://wiki.mageia.org/en/QA_Team_portal

In reference to #3, Cauldron updates are downgradable provided you find an older package on a secondary mirror.

I have downgraded myself more than once.

I prefer to err on the side of caution.
Yes, the "provided you find an older package on a secondary mirror" is an important caveat.

Solution: run all your updates through urpmi-proxy, installed on a reliable system
That proxy then will keep any rpm you ever downloaded through it - until you run the cleaning script.

FWIW you should not downgrade on cauldron, but report issues early so they can be fixed.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!

Did the threadstarter disappear when upgrading to Cauldron?? :o IMHO Cauldron is usually pretty stable. Both kernel and Firefox are available in lts versions. And basically all packages are in latest stable (not rc) versions so usually everything works just fine. Not that often you will not get a bootable system into a graphical desktop environment. Running Cauldron for more than a decade I can only remember one time when not getting into at least console. IIRC it was a nasty problem with util-linux (agetty). Since that happened I only boot to console (multi-user.target) and then start the display manager (many available) manually to get a little more control.
