Cauldron - Cinnamon Touchpad Settings not working

Recently, selecting the touchpad / mouse settings in Cinnamon does nothing. I submitted a bug report... 34118.

this bug may be related to several others as the following applications stopped working after the same update:

gnome-music

soundconverter.

can you see if this update:

fixes the issue.

should be coming soon to a mirror near you.

if so, close the bug report with a comment and *resolved* + *fixed*

After exploring more, I found that this was already installed but I didn't see it at first because it is python3-gobject and I was looking for it without the 3. I still have the problem with Cinnamon Touchpad Settings not working. It may have to do with the following message that comes up every time 'task-cinnamon-minimal' tries to install:

- task-cinnamon-minimal-6.4-1.mga10.noarch (due to unsatisfied cinnamon[>= 6.4])

'Cinnamon' is at version 6.2.9 but many of the other cinnamon related packages that were installed are at 6.4 or 6.4.1. It seems some packages in 'task-cinnamon-minimal' need to be updated and that might resolve the issue. There is also an issue with 'cinnamon-settings sound' that is likely due to cinnnamon packages not being fully updated.

The update to cinnamon 6.4 does not seem to be complete, missing are (apart from cinnamon itself as you mentioned) cinnamon-desktop, cinnamon-settings-daemon, cinnamon-desktop.
That should be fixed first by the packager, and maybe the update to cinnamon-settings-daemon may also affected sound/touchpad settings.

I will wait for the packager to update. I suppose I could use KDE but I like Cinnamon so much more and I love using Cauldron because living on the edge is just too much fun Thankfully, I already had my touchpad set the way I like it and even though I can't change them, they seem to be "preserved" as I already had them. The sound issue is more annoying but using pav until the issue is fixed isn't a big problem.
